Den guatemalanske forfatter Eduardo Halfon tager i romanen Canción sit hjemlands historie op på tværs af tid og geografi, fra de krigsramte 70’ere til en forfatterkonference i Japan. Det er mødet med den fremmed kultur, der får romanens fortæller til at tænke tilbage på sin barndom og dengang, hans far blev kidnappet i landets hovedstad. Eduardo Halfon samtaler med Mads Rosendahl Thomsen, professor i Litteraturhistorie, om romanen. Arrangementet foregår på engelsk.

The Guatemalan author Eduardo Halfon has published the novel Canción. Within this novel, he explores the history of his native land across time and place from a conference of authors in Japan. It is the meeting with a foreign culture that facilitates the narrator of the story’s thoughts about his childhood and the time his father was kidnapped in the capital of the country. Meet Eduardo Halfon in a talk about the novel with professor of comparative literature, Mads Rosendahl Thomsen. The event will be in English.
