Lidt om Lit – med Sjón

The icelandic author Sjón visits LiteratureXchange 13.-14. of June and his trilogy 'CoDex 1962' has just been published at C&K, translated into danish by Kim Lembek. We've asked him a few questions about literature.


Which book have you read most recently?

I just reread David Grossman’s masterpiece 'See under: Love'.

Which book have you never finished?

'Finnegans Wake'. But I am not sure it is meant to be read at all.

What author do you think is overlooked? 

The Italian novelist and short story writer Anna Maria Ortese, a sharp and daring author of strange tales.

What would you be if you weren’t an author?

A cosmonaut as the Soviets called it.

What is your best advice for writing fiction?

Write about what you don’t know.
