The nigerian author Chigozie Obioma releases his third novel in June, titled The Road to the Country, set in the late 1960s during the Nigerian Civil War. It's an epic tale of a shy student's enduring guilt and of going to war to free oneself. It's a story of brotherhood, love, and unimaginable courage, where myth and realism blend into a unique novel from one of the most prominent voices in world literature today.

Obioma has previously published two critically acclaimed novels, The Fishermen in 2015 and An Orchestra of Minorities in 2019, both of which were shortlisted for the prestigious Booker Prize, making him one of only two novelists to be shortlisted for all of his works. Additionally, Obioma has written essays, short stories, and poetry.

Chigozie Obioma has won numerous awards for his works, including the Internationaler Literaturpreis, NAACP Image Award, LA Times Book Prize, and FT/OppenheimerFunds Award for Fiction.
